In May 2026, following approval by the relevant competition authorities, MRS Electronic officially became part of the Würth Elektronik ICS Group, marking a new chapter in a long-standing partnership between the two companies. The acquisition brings together complementary expertise in electronic control, power distribution and system integration, giving customers across mobile machinery, commercial vehicle and marine segments access to an even broader product portfolio in the future.
Together with its headquarters in Rottweil, with around 250 employees and the company’s sites in Croatia, Poland and Türkiye, MRS Electronic continues to operate as an independent company within the Würth Elektronik ICS Group.
Built on more than 15 years of cooperation
Würth Elektronik ICS develops intelligent systems and components for signal and power distribution, function control, and display and operating solutions. The company is one of the leading suppliers in Europe, particularly in the field of power distribution for mobile machinery.
MRS Electronic brings more than 25 years of experience in the development and production of control, communication and networking solutions, including compact controllers, gateways, relays and HMI systems. The company portfolio includes standard and customized electronics and software solutions.
The two companies have worked together as development and technology partners for more than 15 years. During this time, MRS Electronic controllers have already been used as integral components in Würth Elektronik ICS central electrical units and power distribution systems, supporting intelligent control and communication within CAN-based electronic architectures.
Becoming part of the same group therefore represents a natural continuation of an established technical partnership and creates a closer framework for future cooperation.
Combining complementary expertise
With the acquisition of MRS Electronic, Würth Elektronik ICS is strategically expanding its existing portfolio with additional products, technologies and development expertise in the fields of control, communication and networking of electronic systems.
The combined expertise creates new opportunities to address increasingly complex and software-driven applications, while strengthening capabilities in areas such as cybersecurity, functional safety and modern processor platforms. MRS Marine continues to focus on flexible control solutions for applications such as digital switching, lighting control, pump control, hydraulic systems, DC motor control and onboard monitoring.
Customers and partners continue to benefit from MRS Marine’s existing controller portfolio, software and application expertise. At the same time, being part of the Würth Elektronik ICS Group opens up a broader environment for future development, with opportunities to scale existing technologies, explore new applications, and address increasingly complex projects in areas where electronic control, communication and power distribution converge.
